In terms of properties, it fully matches newly produced nylon – it is extremely strong, lightweight, and highly abrasion-resistant. Swedish symbol of resilience and love of nature - Fjällräven
Looking for a partner to hold you up in the Arctic blizzard and the urban jungle? Fjällräven, the brand with the iconic logo of the polar fox, has been synonymous with absolute reliability since 1960. It all started in the small Swedish town of Örnsköldsvik in the mind of a young Åke Nordin. He wasn't satisfied with the backpacks of the time, so he made his own frame in his father's workshop to better distribute the weight. His vision was simple: to make nature accessible to people through equipment that is functional, durable and ages beautifully. Today, Fjällräven is a global leader, proving that peak performance and respect for the planet go hand in hand.
G-1000 material: technology you control
What makes Fjällräven stand out from the crowd is their unique G-1000 fabric. This densely woven polyester and cotton blend is mechanically almost indestructible yet superbly breathable. But its real magic lies in its Greenland Wax technology. Thanks to this blend of beeswax and paraffin wax, you can adjust the properties of your clothing to suit where you're going. Want the ultimate in waterproofing for a trek? Add a layer of wax. Hot summer coming up? Just wash off the wax. This system makes lines like Keb and Vidda Pro the absolute top of the line in outdoor pants and jackets.
Why do people seek out the Arctic Fox?
You don't buy Fjällräven for one season. People love this brand because of the longevity philosophy. While others rely on fast fashion, the Swedes design things to last for decades and often run in families. A case in point is the Kånken backpack, originally invented as a back pain preventative for Swedish schoolchildren, which has become a global cultural phenomenon. Fjällräven doesn't force you to buy new pieces every year; it teaches you to take care of the ones you already have. It's an investment in quality that will grow with you and become part of your best travel memories.
